I'm a passionate software engineer who likes to build rock-solid back-end applications. Ruby on Rails has long been my weapon of choice, but I also venture into java, golang, and python on occassion.
In my free time I like to tinker with electronics. This can range from building my own electronics projects to repairing power amplifiers and televisions. You can read about specific projects here.
I also likes to shoot my Hedeby Viking longbow at Archery club Pieter Breugel. It's a great way to unwind.
Mid-2019 I picked up Krav Maga. The lessons I follow are a mix between self-defence techniques, fitness, and strength training. For me this hits the sweet spot between physical activity and learning something useful. It's even more fun when you can do it with friends.
Professionally I've been a software engineer at Kabisa since 2007. I started out as a software engineer fresh out of college. Today I'm at a senior level and responsible for leading teams, designing architecture, and coaching people into a more agile approach to software development.
